Arriving in Sharn only three days prior to the rendezvous, Rumia still looks slightly out of place and carries some small, but quickly diminishing scars on her face and arms from a recent battle. This is, after all, the first time she has been on her own in her 20 years of life.
Rumia is very patient, willing to talk even with the filthy street urchins as she goes about her business. When pressed, she will only say that she grew up in a noble family, but found the political life dull and useless. Rumia refused (most of) her inheritance and left for the monastery instead. How she ended up in Sharn is anyone’s guess. Around strangers she is initially guarded, but around friends her dry wit and charm eventually emerge, making her a welcome ally and dangerous enemy.
Rumia has one goal in life: to defeat the Dreaming Darkness, wherever it is, and restore the world to light. Her training at the monastery of the Broken Blade taught her patience, however, and her calm, graceful (it has been said she moves “like a jungle cat”) demeanor is both a product of that training and her kalashtar heritage. Her clothing is mostly black and red, simple garb, giving her freedom of movement and the ability to both hide in shadows and conceal her weapons. She often wears a hooded cloak to bring less attention to herself and obscure her kalashtar attributes. With the cloak she looks unremarkable—without it she looks like the well-trained, perfectly balanced martial artist she is. She carries a blue-handled wakizashi on her back, and always has a half-dozen or so pointed stars accessible on a belt.
